Special episode 2: The Raven Trilogy

Long time since update. I´m working on episode 10 right now, just need to encode it. Hopefully it´ll be ready this weekend.

Meanwhile, check out Special episode 2: The Raven Trilogy! The Raven Trilogy is the name for the three Vikingfilms made by Hrafn Gunnlaugsson. These are dirty, and violent sagas about the real Vikings, not Hollywood-Vikings...

The films are:

3. Embla (Directors Cut of The White Viking)

All are Englishfriendly, just so you know. All trailers are from high quality (official) files, divx.

The Embla-trailer are slightly censored, not by me though. Marie Bonnevies pubic hair is "gone". Funfact: She was only 15 or 16 years when the film was made... and she is completely nude in the beginning of the film. Hrafn is a dirty old man :P

Episode 9: Nollywood

Prevues is back! Episode 9 is finally online for your viewing pleasure! This time it is Nigerian film that´s in the focus. It´s Nollywood time! If you have no idea what Nollywood is, read up on it here.

Hope I got all the titles right... About the quality: I found all these trailers in a torrent file a while back. All are ripped from VHS copies (VHS is still used in Nigeria), and they are all not good. At best, they are OK. Bodyguard is pretty fucked, but it was the funniest trailer so I decided to put it in. I´ve tried to fix the image and sound a little, but you can´t shine shit. Take it for what it is. On an iPodscreen it´s not so bad, almost good at times :)

Filming your own show can be expensive. If you have to, you can always take out payday loans to help pay for the cameras.

Enjoy this 23 minutes adventure into African cinema, actually one of the biggest film industries in the world!

Just a little heads up that Prevues isn't dead! I'm working on episode 9 at the moment, and have plans for the 10th. I also know the theme for the 3rd DVD, but that probably won't happen this year.

Hopefully episode 9 will be out this weekend, but no promises!

Book: "Coming Attractions: Reading American movie trailers" by Lisa Kerman

Greetings everybody! Hope you all have had a good summer! I'm back from my month long vacation i Central-America, with Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Mexico and El Salvador
visited. Very nice countries, friendly and cheap. And good beers! Highly recommended!

I haven't started making a new episode yet, still trying to figure out what theme it should have. I'll let you know when I know myself.

This is just a post to let you know about a book calles "Coming Attractions: Reading American movie trailers" by Lisa Kerman. It is, as you probably understand, a book about trailers, doh! It starts of kinda dry and boring (it's very academic), but it has lots of interesting info about the history of trailers, etc. It also has lots of analyses of trailers. An interested read if you like trailers, and want to learn more about them.

It's available on Google Books, but in a limited view. You can read most pages, but not all. Check it out, and if you like what you read: buy it! :)

3 years online!

Today, Prevues of Coming Attractions has been online for 3 whole years! It's been ups and downs, mostly ups. This last year has seen the birth of two seasons of trailer episodes, and a new DVD. What will come next? Probably more trailers, we'll see :)

As a gift to all of you who visits this blog, I've made a special episode. This will mark the end of season 2. What's it about? Well, it's the trailers for the Ilsa trilogy! The most wicked prison warden of all time :D
